ARSINOE members, including Profs Albert Chen and Nav Mustafee at University of Exeter, and Prof Ralf Ludwig at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, have successfully delivered the PhD Academy on Water and Climate Resilience at Venice International University, Italy, on 8-12 July 2024.

The event was led by the ARSINOE members, supported by Prof Guangtao Fu (University of Exeter), Prof Patrick Williems (KU Leuven) and Prof Haifeng Jia (Tsinghua University), aiming to assist early career researchers (ECRs) building capacity in climate resilience research. Profs Chen, Mustafee and Ludwig shared the insight from ARSINOE project about climate scenarios and modelling, hazard and impact analysis, and resilience assessment with the 24 ECRs from 12 countries.

ARSINOE is committed to developing methodologies to better understand the impacts of climate hazards and exploring adaptation strategies to enhance societal resilience. The PhD Academy has enabled wider audience learning and adopting ARSINOE approaches to strengthening climate resilience in global communities.
