The beautiful island of Sardinia played host to the 3rd General Assembly of the ARSINOE Project, where over 60 participants from diverse institutions and disciplines gathered to collaborate, discuss, and advance shared goals for a resilient future. The hybrid event, held at Fondazione di Sardegna and organized by AGRIS, was marked by dynamic workshops, engaging sessions, and collaborative discussions aimed at building a legacy of climate innovation and sustainability.

Highlights of the General Assembly:

Project Coordinator Chrysi Laspidou and Project Manager Giannis Adamos from the University of Thessaly welcomed the consortium, setting an optimistic tone for the assembly’s third year. “We have one more year—let’s start building ARSINOE’s legacy,” they encouraged, reflecting the collective drive to make impactful strides in climate resilience.

The four-day assembly focused on key project milestones, fostering collaborations, and exploring new synergies within the ARSINOE consortium. The agenda was packed with impactful sessions, featuring:

  • Day 1: Management discussions on stakeholder engagement and resilience frameworks set the stage for the assembly, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and strategic planning.
  • Day 2: The spotlight was on climate projections and digital twins—innovative tools for resilience planning—led by experts from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and the University of Exeter. The day also featured a Sustainable Finance Workshop led by the Athens University of Economics and Business, exploring financial needs and pathways for sustainable development.
  • Day 3: Participants had the opportunity to go on a field trip to Molino Secci and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Su Nuraxi, offering a practical glimpse into Sardinia’s rich cultural and environmental landscape.
  • Day 4: A leisurely day allowed participants to explore the breathtaking beaches of Villasimius, providing a space to reflect on discussions and strengthen networks in a relaxed setting.

Looking Ahead:

The assembly served as a platform to exchange insights, enhance collaboration, and explore cutting-edge approaches to climate adaptation, resilience, and innovation. With just one year left, the ARSINOE consortium remains committed to maintaining the momentum, working closely together to achieve tangible results and leave a lasting impact. Stay tuned for our final event to take place next September.
